Boox + Claude
Ask Claude about your Boox handwritten notes
Margen is a notes app for Boox tablets that sends every page you write to Claude. You write by hand as usual; later you ask Claude what you decided in a meeting, what you noted about a book, or what has been on your mind this month, and it answers from your own pages.
Why it is hard without Margen
Boox can sync and export your notes, but as PDFs and images. To ask Claude about them you export a notebook, upload it to a chat, and do it again every time a page changes. Claude never sees your notes as a whole, and by the time you need an old note you no longer remember which file it was in.
How it works
- Write in Margen on your Boox. Pen, pressure, eraser and lasso work the way you expect on E Ink.
- Close the note. The page is transcribed in the background by a vision model, which also writes a short title and a one-line summary.
- Connect Claude once. In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste

Claude can list your recent notes, search them, read a page in full, and look at the page image itself when the handwriting matters, for a diagram or a margin note.

What Claude can and cannot do
The connection is read-only. Claude can read your notes and nothing from any other account; it cannot change or delete anything on your tablet. You can disconnect it from the app or from Claude at any time. Your notes are not used to train models by us or by our model provider; what Claude keeps follows your Anthropic settings. Questions
Does it work with ChatGPT or Notion?
ChatGPT, yes: on a paid plan, on the web, turn on developer mode under Settings → Apps → Advanced and add the same address. Notion is next.
Does it read the notes I already have in Boox Notes?
No. Margen is its own notes app: the pages you write in Margen are the ones that reach Claude.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Once the connector is added on the web or the desktop app, it works in the Claude mobile apps too. You write on the Boox; you ask from anywhere.
